Using Shiplify with LTL Quick Quote
Last updated: September 23, 2026
Drumkit connects to Shiplify inside LTL Quick Quote so location-based accessorials (like residential or limited access delivery) are caught before you send a quote, not after. Shiplify checks each pickup and dropoff address, and Drumkit adds the matching charges to your quote or suggests them for you to review.
Before you start
Where it appears: Quote View → Quick Quote → LTL tab.
Requirements: Your team must have a Shiplify account connected to Drumkit, and Tai must be set up as your LTL TMS.
Setup: The Drumkit team connects Shiplify for you using your Shiplify API credentials. If you don't see the Shiplify options and think you should, reach out to your Drumkit contact.
How does the Shiplify integration in LTL Quick Quote work?
Open an LTL quote. Drumkit fills in the pickup and dropoff addresses from the customer's email where it can.
Check each stop (optional). A Check Shiplify button appears next to each stop once it has a full street address (street number, street, city, state, ZIP, and country).
Review the results. Drumkit shows the location type, dock access, forklift availability, and any charges Shiplify found for that address.
Get your quote. Click Get LTL Quote. If you didn't check a stop yourself, Drumkit runs the Shiplify check for you first, then requests rates from Tai.
You never have to click Check Shiplify. Checking early just lets you see the results before you quote.
What you'll see
Before checking: If the address is incomplete, the button is greyed out and you'll see "Add a full address to check Shiplify." Once the address is complete, you'll see "Check Shiplify for this address before requesting rates."
After checking: The button turns green and reads Imported from Shiplify. A Location details panel shows Location type, Dock access, and Forklift, along with a View in Shiplify link.
No charges found: "Checked – no accessorials recommended" means Shiplify reviewed the address and found nothing chargeable. This is a normal result for many commercial locations.
Shiplify recommendations panel: Lists each charge Shiplify found, with its tariff, confidence level, and location type. Each item shows either Added or an Add button.
Shiplify badge on accessorials: Any accessorial added from Shiplify shows the Shiplify logo. Hover over it to see "Recommended by Shiplify."
On submit: If a check still needs to run, the button reads Checking Shiplify… and then Getting LTL quotes…
Above your rates: A badge tells you whether the quote was sent without a Shiplify lookup, with Shiplify recommendations, or after Shiplify verification.
How Drumkit decides what to add
Added automatically: Only charges Shiplify returns at its highest confidence level are selected for you, and only if they match an accessorial in your Tai catalog.
Suggested: Anything below the highest confidence level appears as a suggestion with an Add button, so the decision stays with you. You can also dismiss a suggestion you don't want.
Exempt: A grey Exempt badge means Shiplify says this specific location is excluded from that charge. Drumkit never adds exempt items.
No matching TAI accessorial: Shiplify identified something about the location, but Drumkit couldn't confidently match it to a charge in your Tai catalog (usually because the two systems word it differently). Add the correct accessorial manually and let us know so we can set up the match.
Warning messages
Shiplify never blocks a quote. If something goes wrong, you'll see an amber warning and your rates will still come back.
Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
Shiplify couldn't be checked right now. You can still request rates. | Shiplify was slow or temporarily unavailable. | Try again. If it keeps happening, contact support. |
This address wasn't found in Shiplify. Check the address or continue requesting rates. | Shiplify doesn't recognize the address, often due to a typo. | Double check the address and try again. |
Shiplify's daily lookup limit has been reached. You can still request rates. | Your team has used all of the daily lookups included in your Shiplify plan. | Keep quoting as normal. Lookups resume on Shiplify's next daily cycle. |
Shiplify needs to be reconnected. You can still request rates. | Drumkit's connection to your Shiplify account isn't working, often because the API key changed. | Contact Drumkit support so we can update the connection. |
Good to know
Editing an address clears its results. If you change a stop after checking it, any Shiplify charges for that stop are removed and you'll see "Destination changed. Check Shiplify again." This keeps charges tied to the correct address.
Editing during a check cancels the quote. If you change an address while Shiplify is still checking, you'll see "Destination changed while checking Shiplify. Please request rates again." Just click Get LTL Quote again.
Dismissed suggestions stay dismissed for that address. Changing the address resets them.
Liftgate isn't set by Shiplify. Shiplify provides dock access and forklift information, but liftgate is still your call.
Lookups are cached for 24 hours. Checking the same address again within 24 hours doesn't use another lookup.
Shiplify Integration FAQs
Do I have to click Check Shiplify?
No. If you skip it, Drumkit runs the check automatically when you click Get LTL Quote, as long as the address is complete. Why is the Check Shiplify button greyed out?
Shiplify needs a full street address. A city and state, or a ZIP code on its own, isn't enough.Shiplify says the address is residential, but Drumkit didn't add the charge. Why?
Drumkit only adds charges automatically at Shiplify's highest confidence level. Anything less shows up as a suggestion with an Add button so nothing lands on your quote unless you choose it.I got an amber warning. Did my quote still go out?
Yes. Shiplify never holds up a rate request. The warning just means Shiplify's recommendations couldn't be added that time. How many Shiplify lookups can my team use?
That depends on your Shiplify plan. Most quotes use two lookups (one for pickup, one for dropoff), and repeat lookups of the same address within 24 hours don't count again. If your team regularly hits the limit, talk with Shiplify about raising it.What happens if we change our Shiplify API key?
Shiplify lookups will stop working until Drumkit updates the connection. Please let us know before rotating your key so there's no gap. Quoting keeps working in the meantime. Will Drumkit ever add a charge we didn't approve?
Only when Shiplify is at its highest confidence level and the charge exists in your Tai catalog. Everything else is presented as a suggestion for your team to accept or ignore.
