How do DAT Connexion seats work with Quick Quote?

Last updated: March 17, 2026

Drumkit's Quick Quote feature pulls real-time rate data directly from DAT, giving you instant access to spot market averages and lane data without ever leaving your inbox. For DAT rates to appear in Quick Quote, your account needs to be connected to DAT through a specific type of subscription called a Connexion seat. This article answers the most common questions about how Connexion seats work and what to do when DAT rates aren't appearing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a DAT Connexion seat, and how is it different from a regular DAT login?

DAT offers two different types of account access that are easy to mix up:

  • DAT.com login (standard user seat): The email address and password your team members use to log into DAT.com to view load boards and rate data manually in the browser. Most team members have one of these.

  • DAT Connexion seat: A separate, additional subscription that allows third-party tools — like Drumkit — to connect to DAT's data via an API. Connexion seats are typically purchased in limited quantities because DAT charges for them separately from standard user seats.

Having a standard DAT.com login is not enough on its own for Quick Quote to work. The email address associated with your Drumkit account must be linked to a DAT Connexion seat.

Why does Quick Quote need a Connexion seat to show DAT rates?

Quick Quote pulls DAT rate data in real time through DAT's API. Connexion is DAT's API access subscription — without it, Drumkit has no way to retrieve rate data on your behalf, even if you personally have an active DAT.com account.

What happens to Quick Quote if my company reduces its number of Connexion seats?

It can have an immediate, direct impact. If your account was connected to a Connexion seat that gets deactivated or reassigned, DAT rates will stop appearing in your Quick Quote sidebar right away — with no advance warning to you as an end user. This is one of the most common causes of DAT rates suddenly disappearing.

If your company is considering reducing its Connexion seat count, please make sure your management team loops in the Drumkit team at support@drumkit.ai before making any changes so we can ensure there is no disruption to your team's Quick Quote access.

DAT rates were working and suddenly stopped. What happened?

The most likely cause is that a Connexion seat your account was connected to has been deactivated, reassigned, or the associated email address is no longer valid — for example, if someone left the company and their account was deactivated.

What to do:

  1. Check whether your other rate sources (e.g., Greenscreens, Truckstop) are still appearing. If they are, the issue is specific to DAT and is almost certainly a Connexion seat issue.

  2. Contact your manager and ask them to loop in the Drumkit team.

  3. Email support@drumkit.ai and include your manager — this is a quick fix once the right Connexion seat email is identified.

DAT rates have never appeared for me in Quick Quote. Why?

Your Drumkit account may not yet be connected to a Connexion seat. This is something your manager or DAT account administrator needs to configure — it is not something you can set up yourself as an end user.

What to do: Contact your manager and ask them to reach out to the Drumkit team so we can get the right credentials set up for your account.

DAT rates work for some of my teammates but not for me. Why?

This is the most common scenario. Companies often have fewer Connexion seats than total DAT users, meaning not every team member's Drumkit account is connected to one. If a colleague has DAT rates in Quick Quote but you don't, it almost certainly comes down to Connexion seat access.

What to do: Contact your manager — this is a configuration conversation that needs to happen between your management team and the Drumkit team. It cannot be resolved by end users directly.

I'm a manager. What do I need to know about Connexion seats and Quick Quote?

A few important things:

  • Reducing Connexion seats has an immediate impact. Always loop in the Drumkit team at support@drumkit.ai before making any changes to your Connexion seat count to avoid unexpected disruption for your team.

  • Your team members may not know which accounts have Connexion access. This is one of the most common sources of confusion. If you're unsure which accounts in your organization are connected, contact the Drumkit team and we can help clarify.

Quick Quote & DAT: Understanding DAT Connexion Seats

DAT Connexion seat issues require coordination between your management team and the Drumkit team — they cannot be self-resolved by end users.

  • Contact your manager first to flag the issue and ask them to reach out to Drumkit on your behalf.

  • Or email support@drumkit.ai directly and include your manager on the message so the right people are in the loop from the start.

When reaching out, it helps to include your email platform (Gmail, Outlook, or Front) and a brief description of what you're seeing — for example, whether DAT rates are blank, showing an error, or simply not appearing at all.
