How does Drumkit decide which view opens by default in my sidebar?

Last updated: August 12, 2026

When you open the Drumkit sidebar, it automatically opens to either the New (Quote) view or the Active (Loads) view. Here is how Drumkit picks which one you see.

If your account only has one of these views enabled, Drumkit always opens that one. There is nothing to configure.

If your account has both views enabled, Drumkit checks whether a default has been set for you.

  • If a default has been set, Drumkit opens that view every time.

  • If no default has been set, Drumkit opens New (Quote).

One thing worth noting: if a thread you are viewing already has loads associated with it, that alone will not switch your sidebar over to Active (Loads). Drumkit will stay on your resolved default view and simply let you know that existing loads are associated with that thread, so you can jump over to Active (Loads) yourself if you want to.
