What to expect after onboarding: your first week with Drumkit

Last updated: March 10, 2026

You've installed Drumkit — great! This article walks you through what to expect in your first week so you can hit the ground running and get the most out of the tool from day one.

Day 1: Drumkit Only Sees New Emails

One of the most important things to know right away: Drumkit only processes emails received after installation. Emails that were already in your inbox before you set up Drumkit will not be processed when you open them.

This means on your first day, your inbox may look like business as usual — you'll start seeing Drumkit suggestions as new emails arrive throughout the day.

If you need Drumkit to act on an older email, simply forward that email to yourself. Because it arrives as a new message after installation, Drumkit will be able to read and process it.

Days 1–3: Getting Familiar with the Sidebar

As new emails come in, take time to open each one with the Drumkit panel in view. Notice how the AI reads the email and surfaces load details, suggested actions, and pre-filled fields.

At this stage, your job is simply to observe and verify — don't rush to confirm actions without reviewing them first. Building the habit of checking Drumkit's output before you act is the single most important thing you can do early on.

A few things to look for:

  • Is Drumkit correctly identifying loads and shipment details? If something looks off, do not submit it — edit the fields manually and flag the error to your team lead.

  • Are the suggested next steps relevant to the email you're reading? Drumkit is designed to surface the most likely action, but you are always in control of what gets submitted or sent.

  • Is the panel loading consistently? If you notice the panel failing to load or not appearing on certain emails, note which inbox or email type it happened on and report it.

Days 3–5: Building Your Workflow

By mid-week, you should start to feel the rhythm of working with Drumkit open. Here's what a healthy workflow looks like:

  1. An email arrives — Drumkit automatically reads it and surfaces load information and suggested actions.

  2. You review — Quickly scan the auto-filled fields for accuracy.

  3. You confirm or edit — If everything looks right, confirm with one click. If not, adjust the fields before proceeding.

  4. Drumkit pushes to your TMS — The load data is entered automatically, saving you from switching tabs or doing it manually.

The goal is to stay in your inbox and let Drumkit handle the data entry layer while you focus on decisions and communication.

End of Week 1: What "Normal" Looks Like

By the end of your first week, you should be:

  • Seeing Drumkit suggestions on most new, actionable emails

  • Reviewing and confirming actions with confidence

  • Forwarding pre-installation emails to yourself when needed

  • Knowing when and how to report a misread or incorrect suggestion

If Drumkit isn't appearing on some emails, check whether those emails are coming from inboxes or channels that Drumkit is configured to monitor. Contact your team lead if you're unsure.

Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your First Week

  • Use it for every load — even when it feels faster to skip it. Consistency is what builds the habit and saves the most time over a week.

  • Don't skip the review step — Drumkit is accurate but not infallible. A quick scan before confirming keeps your data clean.

  • Ask questions early — If something doesn't seem right, flag it to your team lead right away rather than working around it.

  • Stay in your inbox — Resist the urge to jump to your TMS for tasks Drumkit can handle. The whole point is to centralize your workflow.
