How do I place bidding portal bids from my inbox?

When a shipper sends you a quote request that has to be bid on their portal, Drumkit can handle the portal part for you. No separate login, no re-typing the rate.

How it works

  1. Open the quote request in your inbox and pull up the Drumkit sidebar. Get your quote the way you normally would.

  2. If the email came from a bidding portal we support, you'll see a Submit Bid option next to the usual Draft Email option. The portal, your login, and the load number are already filled in from the email (look for the small sparkle icon, which means Drumkit filled it in automatically).

  3. Give the rate a look. The Summary card shows exactly what we're about to send, and it's labeled either Line haul or Total sell. That's set up in advance to match what that specific shipper expects, so you don't have to think about it.

  4. If everything looks right, click Submit bid. Drumkit logs into the portal, finds that exact load, enters your rate, and submits it.

  5. It usually takes about 90 seconds, sometimes up to three minutes. You can close the sidebar and keep working; it keeps running in the background.

What we support today

Automatic bid submission currently works on:

  • CarrierPoint

  • Manhattan

  • Insight TMS

  • Trucker Tools

It's Full Truckload (FTL) only for now. Less-than-Truckload (LTL) quotes won't show the Submit Bid option.

A few safeguards worth knowing about

  • We never bid without you. A rep always reviews the rate and clicks submit, and nothing goes to the portal automatically.

  • We double-check the load before submitting. Drumkit reads the load ID off the portal page and confirms it matches the load from the email exactly. If it doesn't match, or if there's more than one possible match, we stop and let you know rather than guess. We'd rather fail a submission than bid on the wrong load.

  • The rate basis is fixed per shipper. Whether we send line haul or an all-in rate isn't something you choose in the moment. It's configured ahead of time so it always matches that shipper's bidding rules.

How you'll hear about the outcome

  • Success: you'll get a confirmation email from Drumkit, except on CarrierPoint, where CarrierPoint sends its own "bid placed" confirmation, so we don't send a second one. That's expected, not a bug.

  • Failure: you'll always get an email from us, with a direct link to the portal so you can place it manually if needed.
