Install Drumkit in Outlook and pin it

Last updated: October 23, 2026

Add Drumkit from Outlook's app store, open it on any email, sign in with your Microsoft work account, and pin it so it stays open. It works in new Outlook, Outlook on the web, classic Outlook for Windows and Outlook for Mac.

Your company's IT team may need to approve Drumkit first. If Outlook asks for admin approval, or Drumkit is already in your apps without you adding it, see For IT admins: Microsoft Entra consent and deployment.

1. Sign up

Go to app.drumkit.ai/signup and click Sign up with Microsoft. Use your work email, the same mailbox you'll use Drumkit in. This connects your inbox so Kit can start reading new mail.

2. Add Drumkit to Outlook

New Outlook and Outlook on the web

  1. Click Apps in the left-hand bar (the icon with four squares).
  2. Click Add apps.
  3. Search for Drumkit and click Add.

Classic Outlook for Windows and Outlook for Mac

  1. On the Home tab, click Get Add-ins. In newer versions it's under Apps, then Get Add-ins.
  2. Search for Drumkit and click Add.

If your IT team pushed Drumkit to everyone, it's already installed. Skip to step 3.

3. Open Drumkit on an email

Open any email. In the toolbar above the message, click Apps and then Drumkit. In classic Outlook, click Drumkit Sidebar in the Drumkit group of the ribbon.

4. Sign in

Click Sign in to Drumkit. Outlook signs you in with your Microsoft account. You may see a Microsoft permissions prompt the first time.

If you see Sign up for Drumkit instead, your account isn't set up yet. Click it, finish signing up, then refresh Outlook.

5. Pin it

Click the pin icon at the top of the Drumkit pane. Pinned, Drumkit stays open and follows you from email to email, so you don't have to reopen it each time.

You're set. Open a quote request and Kit will tell you what it found. Next: Quote a single lane.

Reinstall the add-in

If Drumkit won't load or keeps showing errors, removing and reinstalling it fixes most problems.

  1. Click Apps in the left-hand bar, then Add apps, then Manage your apps.
  2. Find Drumkit, click the three dots (...) next to it, and click Remove.
  3. Refresh Outlook. In desktop Outlook, close it fully and reopen it. In Outlook on the web, sign out and back in.
  4. Go back to Add apps, search for Drumkit and add it again.
  5. Open an email, open Drumkit and pin it.

In classic Outlook, remove it from Get Add-ins > My add-ins instead.

Don't see Remove? Your company may manage add-ins centrally. Ask your IT team to remove and redeploy Drumkit.

FAQs

Drumkit keeps unpinning itself.

This is a known issue in Outlook's add-in platform, mostly in new Outlook and Outlook on the web, and it affects other add-ins too. Re-pin Drumkit when it happens, especially after you restart Outlook. Switching back and forth between classic and new Outlook can also reset the pin, so stick to one if you can.

I clicked Sign in to Drumkit and nothing happened.

See Sign in, sign up or reconnect. The usual causes are a blocked pop-up, signing in with a different Microsoft account than the mailbox, or your IT team not having approved Drumkit yet.

Does Drumkit work in shared mailboxes?

Yes. Sign up the shared mailbox at app.drumkit.ai/signup first. Then sign in to the Drumkit Portal with your own account and add it under Shared mailboxes on the Home page. If it isn't listed, or you're not sure you have access to it, email support@drumkit.ai.

Does it work on Outlook mobile?

No. Drumkit runs in Outlook on your computer and on the web.
