How Builder works
Last updated: October 23, 2026
Builder turns a tender email into a load in your TMS without retyping it. Kit reads the email and its attachments, fills in a load form in the Drumkit sidebar, and you check it and click Build Load. Nothing is created until you click Build Load.
Where you find it
Open an email, open the Drumkit sidebar, stay in the New view and click the Load Building tab. If Kit found a load in the email, it shows a suggestion. Click it and the form fills in.
Don't see the tab? Load Building is turned on per team, and sometimes only for some users. Ask your Drumkit admin. See Which TMSs Builder supports to check yours is one of them.
What it reads and what it writes
Drumkit reads your customer and location records to fill in the form, and writes only the load. It never edits an existing customer, location or location profile. The one other thing it can create is a new location, and only when an address matches nothing you have and you choose to create it.
| From the email and attachments | From your TMS |
|---|---|
| Pickup and delivery addresses, dates and appointment times | The customer and its address |
| Equipment, mode, weight, pallets, temperature | Matching pickup and delivery locations |
| Rates, when the email has them | What those locations carry, like hours or instructions (depends on your TMS) |
| PO, BOL and other reference numbers; items | Your dropdown lists: equipment, commodities, reference types |
Each suggestion comes from one email plus its own attachments, not the whole thread. See What Builder reads: attachments.
When you sign up, Drumkit also reads the last 24 hours of mail you already had. For an older tender, forward it to yourself and Kit reads it as a new email.
What you'll see in the form
- Sections such as Customer, Specs, Rates, Pickup and Consignee (or Route). Which ones you see depends on your TMS. Expand all opens them all; Auto-expand keeps them open.
- Sparkle icons mark what Kit filled in from the email.
- Greyed-out fields come straight from a record in your TMS, like the customer's address or a matched location. They're locked so the load points at your real record, not a slightly different copy of the address. Pick a different customer or location to change them. Some TMS forms (Revenova, for example) have Quick Entry to type a stop address freely.
- Blank fields mean Kit wasn't sure, or the value is blank in your TMS too. Kit leaves a field empty rather than guess.
Locations
For each stop, Drumkit looks for a matching location in your TMS. When it finds one, it selects it. When it doesn't, depending on your TMS, it offers to create one (for example "We detected a new location that will be created upon load submission") or asks you to pick one. If you know the location exists, search for it by address: suite numbers and abbreviations are the usual reason a match is missed.
Build the load
Check the form top to bottom, starting with the customer, and click Build Load. You'll get Load Created 🎉 with the new load number to copy. See After you build.
Your TMS has its own page with the exact sections and fields: find yours in Which TMSs Builder supports.
Rolling it out
Teams that do well start small: pick one or two customers who send a lot of tenders in a predictable format, and who don't tender by EDI. Build their loads in Drumkit for a week or two, send us the misses, then add more customers. See Roll out Builder to your team.
FAQs
Does Builder create loads automatically?
No. Kit fills in the form and you decide. Nothing reaches your TMS until you click Build Load.
Why does the sidebar open on Quick Quote instead of Load Building?
The sidebar opens on the tab that fits the email, often a quote. Click the Load Building tab to switch. If Kit found a load in the email, the suggestion will be waiting there.
Why is a field greyed out?
It's showing what's on the matching record in your TMS. Pick a different customer or location to change it, or use Quick Entry if your TMS form has it. Edits on the load never change the record itself.
Why is a field blank when the email has it?
Either Kit wasn't confident, or the value is blank on your TMS record (hours and instructions often are). Type it in. If Kit keeps missing the same field for a customer, tell us.
Will it build a load twice?
Some forms ask Submit Another Load? if you click Build Load again after a build. Builder doesn't check your TMS for an existing load with the same PO, so check before you build a tender you might have entered by hand.
Is my data safe?
