Builder FAQ

Short answers to the Builder questions we hear most, grouped by topic. Each one links to the full article.

Getting started

Does Builder create loads on its own?

No. Kit reads the email and fills in a load form; you check it and click Build Load. Nothing reaches your TMS before that. See How Builder works.

Why does the sidebar open on Quick Quote instead of Load Building?

The sidebar opens on the tab that fits the email, and that's often a quote. Click the Load Building tab: if Kit found a load in the email, its suggestion is waiting there.

I don't see the Load Building tab.

Load Building is turned on per team, and sometimes only for some users. Ask your Drumkit admin to check you're included. Also check your TMS is one Builder can create loads in: Which TMSs Builder supports.

Kit didn't suggest a load for this email.

Check the quick fixes first: you're signed out, the email is older than the mail Drumkit caught up on when you signed up (forward it to yourself and Kit reads it as new), or the load details are only in a photo. See Report a Builder miss.

How should my team start using Builder?

Start with one or two customers who send a lot of tenders in a predictable format and don't tender by EDI, then widen. See Roll out Builder to your team.

The form

Builder put a value in the wrong field. Will it keep doing that?

Fix it before you build, then forward the email to support@drumkit.ai with a line on what should have happened. We use these examples to tune Builder for that customer. See Report a Builder miss.

Why are some fields greyed out?

They show what's on the matching customer or location record in your TMS, locked so the load points at your real record. Pick a different customer or location to change them. Some forms (Revenova, for example) have Quick Entry for a typed address. See How Builder works.

Why is a field blank when the email has it?

Kit leaves a field blank when it isn't sure, and fields like hours and instructions are often blank on the TMS record too. Fill the record in once and every load benefits.

The location is in my TMS, but Drumkit wants to create a new one.

Search the location field by address and pick the existing record. Suite numbers and abbreviations are the usual reason a match is missed. Your TMS guide explains the new-location options.

Can I add a field my TMS has but the form doesn't?

Not from the form today. Fill it in your TMS after the build, and tell support@drumkit.ai which field you need: requests like this shape what we add.

Can Builder read a scanned PDF or a photo?

Scanned PDFs, Word, Excel and CSV attachments, yes. Photos and images, no. See What Builder reads: attachments.

Dates and times

The times look shifted in my TMS.

Usually a time-zone display difference. On most TMS forms Drumkit shows each stop in its own time zone (the zone is in the field label), while your TMS screens may show your office's zone. See Times look shifted in my TMS.

Why didn't the appointment time fill in?

Kit only fills it when the email clearly gives an appointment. We'd rather leave it blank than have a load look booked when it isn't.

Stops and multiple loads

Can Builder do multi-stop loads?

On some TMSs. Forms with Add Stop or Add Pickup / Add Drop (beta) let you add stops in between by hand. Others take one pickup and one delivery. Your TMS guide says which.

One email has several loads. Can I build them all?

Builder builds one load at a time. If your team has load cloning turned on, Kit can create a load per PO from one template load: see Clone loads from an email.

Cloning said Already exists and created nothing. Is it broken?

No. Those POs are already loads in your TMS, so Drumkit didn't create them twice. Each row links to the existing load.

My customer sends loads in a shared Excel workbook.

Builder can read rows from a SharePoint or OneDrive workbook in Chrome, once we've set up that workbook. See Build loads from an Excel sheet.

After the build

Where's my load number?

On the Load Created 🎉 panel, with a copy button. See After you build.

I got an error but the load is in my TMS.

Some TMSs set a few fields just after creating the load, and that step can fail on its own. Check your TMS before building again so you don't make a duplicate. See Builder error messages, explained.

My load won't come up when I search for it.

Search the load number exactly as your TMS shows it, with no extra spaces. A PO number usually won't find it.

Trust and safety

Will Builder duplicate loads that come in by EDI?

Builder doesn't know a load also arrived by EDI, so building it from the email would create a second copy. Keep EDI customers out of Builder. See Roll out Builder to your team.

Does Drumkit change my customers or locations?

No. It reads your customer and location records to fill the form and writes only the load. The one exception is a new location, and only when you choose to create one.

Is my data safe?

Drumkit is SOC 2 compliant. See Security and your data.
