How do I generate a rate quote with Quick Quote?
Last updated: March 5, 2026
Drumkit eliminates the need to open three different tabs (DAT, TMS, Email) to price a lane. By centralizing market data and history into one sidebar, you can generate a data-backed quote in seconds, allowing you to respond to customers before your competitors do.
Prerequisites
Drumkit Chrome Extension is open.
Integrations (DAT, Triumph/Greenscreens, Truckstop) are active.
Step-by-Step Workflow
Open the Sidebar
Click the Drumkit icon in your Chrome browser or use the keyboard shortcut to launch the sidebar overlay.
Input Lane Details
Origin & Destination: Enter the 5-digit zip codes (preferred) or City/State.
Equipment/Transport Type: Select the mode (Van, Reefer, Flatbed).
Pickup Date: Ensure the date is correct, as rates fluctuate by day of the week.
Review the Rate Data
Drumkit instantly pulls data from your connected sources.
Market Rate: View spot market averages (e.g., from DAT).
Predictive Rate: View algorithmic pricing (e.g., from Triumph/Greenscreens).
History: View what you have paid for this lane in the past from your TMS.
Select & Adjust
Click the rate source you trust most to populate the quote field.
Manually adjust the Margin or Total Rate if you need to add a buffer for difficult lanes.
Export the Quote
Click the "Copy to clipboard" icon (to copy just the number) or "Create draft reply" (for the full email) to finalize the transaction.
Common Pitfalls
General vs. Specific Zips: Entering "Chicago, IL" vs "Miami, FL" gives you a generic average. Entering "60632" vs "33178" accounts for toll roads, bridge crossing fees, and specific traffic patterns. Always use Zips when possible.
Ignoring the "Confidence Score": Tools like Triumph/Greenscreens often provide a confidence score (Low/High). If the confidence is Low, do not trust the auto-generated rate blindly—verify it against a second source like DAT.
