Send or draft your reply, and edit templates

Last updated: October 23, 2026

Once your sell rate is set, Draft Response has your reply written from your company's template, with the rate filled in and the sender in To. Edit anything you like, then send it, save it as a draft, or copy it. The buttons depend on your email app.

What you'll see

Outlook

Send Email sends the reply right away. Open the arrow next to it (More quote reply options) and pick Draft Email to save it as a draft reply in Outlook instead, so you can look it over there first.

Outlook, with a reply already open

Add reply to current draft drops the quote into the reply you're writing.

Outlook shared mailbox

Copy to clipboard. Paste the reply into Outlook and send it from there.

Front

Draft Email opens the reply in your Front composer. Send it from Front.

Gmail (Chrome extension)

Click the copy icon next to Draft Response, then paste it into your Gmail reply.

Send Email with Draft Email in the menu

You'll see Successfully sent quote reply. or Successfully created draft reply. In Outlook, a new draft can take a few seconds to appear.

Sending, drafting or copying the quote marks the lane Quoted in Kit. See See what's been handled.

Send Email is the default for Outlook. If your team prefers to always review in Outlook first, your Drumkit admin can switch you to drafts only, and you'll see only Draft Email.

Change the reply template

Every reply starts from your company's Quick Quote template. Out of the box it reads like this:

Thank you for your Van request from Chicago, IL to Dallas, TX. The rate would be $2,585.
Pickup Date: 11/6/2026
Delivery Date: 11/7/2026

A template can pull in any of these, wherever you want them:

  • The customer's first name and company, and your name or first name, so a reply can open with "Hi Dana," and sign off as you.
  • Pickup and delivery locations and dates, equipment, distance, and number of stops.
  • The rate, the rate per mile, and the source it came from.

Teams usually have one company template, and some add templates for a group or a single rep. Batch Quote, LTL and Batch LTL replies each have their own. For now, the Drumkit team sets up and updates email templates. That way every template supports the details Drumkit fills in for you (the customer's name, the lane, dates, equipment, your rate and more), and your replies sound like you and stay consistent across your team. To change yours, email support@drumkit.ai with the wording you want and who it's for.

Your email signature is added for you. To set or change it, open the Drumkit Portal from the profile menu and go to Settings > Signature.

FAQs

Send Email is greyed out.

There's no address in To. Add the customer's address and try again.

Can I change the reply for just this quote?

Yes. Edit the text in Draft Response before you send. That doesn't change your template.

Can the dates leave out the year?

Yes, it's a company setting. Ask your Drumkit admin or email support@drumkit.ai.

I sent the quote from my own email instead. Does Kit know?

Usually, yes. When Kit detects a human reply on the thread, it moves the lane to Replied to. See See what's been handled.
