Audience: IT Administrators
Tool: Drumkit Outlook Add-In
Overview
For users at your organization to successfully install and use Drumkit, three separate Microsoft Entra apps need to be approved. This article explains what each app does and why all three are required.
The Three Apps
1. Drumkit (Backend App)
Client ID:
7ef2023f-908c-4cd7-99ba-866a75fa15d0What it does: This is Drumkit's backend integration with Microsoft Graph API. It enables Drumkit to securely access Outlook emails on the backend to power features like load extraction, quoting, and scheduling automation.
Why it's needed: Without this app, Drumkit cannot read or process emails to perform its core automation workflows.
2. Drumkit Portal
Client ID:
f83c7168-4bb2-4de1-8f90-a4255453975fWhat it does: This app allows users to access their Drumkit account settings and preferences at https://app.drumkit.ai. It also serves as the app through which organizational consent is typically granted, as it includes consent scope for both the backend app and Drumkit Outlook.
Why it's needed: Without this app, users cannot log into the Drumkit portal or manage their account settings.
3. Drumkit Outlook (Outlook Add-In)
Client ID:
520b031c-4f2f-48c5-8ff5-79fca9248c8dWhat it does: This is the Drumkit Outlook add-in that appears in the Outlook ribbon and sidebar. It works across Outlook on the web, Outlook for Windows, and Outlook for Mac.
Why it's needed: Without this app, users will not be able to see or interact with the Drumkit panel inside Outlook.
Recommended Approach
Drumkit recommends granting consent for all three apps at the organization level rather than assigning individual users. This makes onboarding significantly easier — new team members can sign up for Drumkit without needing admin approval each time.
To grant org-wide consent:
Easiest method: Sign up at https://app.drumkit.ai/signup with an admin account and check "Consent on behalf of your organization" when prompted. This grants consent for all three apps at once.
Alternative method: Use direct admin consent URLs for each app. See How to Grant Organizational Consent Using a Direct Admin Consent URL for instructions.
Once org-wide consent is granted, you can optionally use Entra groups to limit which users are eligible to sign up. See How to Control Which Users Can Access Drumkit via Entra Groups for details.
