When the customer sends an update

Last updated: October 23, 2026

If the customer sends a change while the suggestion is still waiting for you, Kit updates the same suggestion: it fills in blanks and replaces a value only when the new email states it. Once you've built the load or dismissed the suggestion, updates don't change anything in Drumkit or your TMS.

Here's the kind of email we mean

From: Sarah Johnson, Global Logistics
Subject: RE: Load Tender - PO-88912 - Atlanta GA to Miami FL

Quick update: pickup moves to Mon 3/16, same time. Please confirm.

Thanks,
Sarah

What happens to the suggestion

If the suggestion is…Then a follow-up email…
Still waiting for you (not built, not dismissed), and recent: up to 7 days old, or up to 30 days if the pickup date hasn't passedUpdates it in place. Blank fields get filled. A value is replaced only when the new email states it.
BuiltChanges nothing. Update the load in your TMS (or from the Active view).
DismissedChanges nothing.

The rules Kit follows

  • Only what the new email says. Kit reads the new message, not the quoted history under it. A detail the customer doesn't repeat stays as it was.
  • Blanks never wipe a value. If the update leaves something out, Kit keeps what it had.
  • Forwards keep the original. In a forward (FW:), Kit reads the forwarded content too, so forwarding a tender to yourself gives Kit the whole thing.

If you've already started editing the form, check it again after an update arrives: the new email can change fields like the date.

FAQs

I already built the load and the customer changed the date.

Change it in your TMS, or open the load from the Active view in Drumkit and update it there if your TMS supports updates.

The thread started as a quote and turned into a tender. Why are there two suggestions?

Kit works from one email at a time, so the quote request and the tender are handled separately. Build from the tender.

The customer added a stop in the follow-up.

Kit updates stops on an open suggestion when the new email states them. Multi-stop support varies by TMS: check the guide for yours.

Does a "thanks, got it" reply do anything?

No. Replies that only acknowledge don't change the suggestion.
