Builder for MercuryGate

Last updated: October 23, 2026

Build a MercuryGate load from a tender email: open the email, review the form, click Build Load. Nothing is created in MercuryGate until you click Build Load.

Before you start

Your MercuryGate admin and your Drumkit admin set these up once. If Builder isn't showing for you, it's usually one of these.

  • Load Building is turned on for you in Drumkit. Ask your Drumkit admin if you don't see the Load Building tab.
  • You're in the group of users your team turned Builder on for. Builder can be turned on for some users and not others, so ask your Drumkit admin if you don't see it.
  • Drumkit is connected to MercuryGate, and your customers have synced.
  • Your team has agreed which customers to build for. Don't use Builder for customers who tender by EDI: those loads already come into MercuryGate, and building them again makes a duplicate.

1. Open the email and go to Load Building

Open the email and the Drumkit sidebar. In the New view, click the Load Building tab. If Kit found a load in the email, click its suggestion and the form fills in from the email and its attachments. Fields Kit filled in carry a small sparkle icon.

The Load Building tab with the form filled in from the email

Click Expand all at the top of the form to open every section at once, or tick Auto-expand to always start that way.

2. Check each section

Work top to bottom. Start with the customer, because the rest of the load hangs off it. The MercuryGate form has these sections:

Customer

Pick the customer first. Drumkit fills in the customer's details from MercuryGate.

  • Name: search your MercuryGate customers by name
The Customer section with the MercuryGate customer picked

Route

Stops run in order, starting with a pickup and ending with a drop. Each stop opens to show its details.

  • Name and address (ZIP, state): the stop's location. State must be a 2-letter code, like FL or ON
  • Contact Information: Contact Person, Phone, Email
  • Planned Start / Planned End: the pickup or delivery window
  • Appointment Information: Appointment Start, Appointment End and Appointment Notes, when the stop has an appointment
  • Add Pickup / Add Drop (beta): add more stops by hand. Multi-stop is in beta: Kit doesn't fill extra stops in yet, so add them yourself
The Route section with Add Pickup and Add Drop, showing the beta tooltip for adding stops by hand

Specs

  • Equipment Type: from your MercuryGate list. Click Refresh equipment types if one is missing
  • Items: each commodity: Description, Item ID, Pieces, Weight, UOM, NMFC Code, Freight Class, Length/Width/Height, Hazardous Materials, and which stop it's Picked At and Delivered To
  • Load Summary (Auto-calculated): totals from the items, including Total Weight
  • Special Instructions: driver-facing instructions that go to MercuryGate
The Specs section with Equipment Type, one item and the auto-calculated Load Summary

Rates

Under Customer Rates:

  • Payment Method: required
  • Line Haul Rate or Rate Per Mile: Rate Per Mile works out the line haul from Total Miles × rate per mile. Drumkit looks up the miles once both stops are set
  • FSC Rate, FSC Qualifier, Distance (miles): the fuel surcharge as a flat amount, per mile or a percentage
  • Accessorials: each with a Service and an Amount. Click Refresh accessorials if one is missing
  • Hazardous Material Amount: add it with Add Hazmat Amount when the load is hazmat
  • Total Customer Rate: the total of the above
The Rates section with the line haul rate entered and the Total Customer Rate

References

  • Drumkit Quote Number: links the load to the quote you sent from Drumkit. It's AI-filled, so confirm or change it if you quoted more than one lane. Optional
  • Customer Rep and Carrier Rep: pick from your MercuryGate users
  • Trailer Length: optional
  • Reference type and Value: add any other reference numbers. Every value needs a type
The References section with Drumkit Quote Number, reps, Trailer Length and three reference rows

Notes

  • Note: internal notes for the load

When you open a built load later (the Active view), the same form also shows Bill To. You can also cancel a built load from there with Cancel Load. Drumkit asks Cancel this load in MercuryGate? first, and it can't be undone from Drumkit.

3. Check your locations

Drumkit matches each stop to a location already in MercuryGate. When it finds one, it selects it and fills the address from that record, so the load points at your real location.

MercuryGate stops are typed in the Route section rather than picked from a location list, so check each address, ZIP and 2-letter state carefully.

4. Click Build Load

Click Build Load at the bottom of the form. If a required field is empty, Drumkit shows Invalid fields: with a list of what's missing and opens those sections for you. Fill them in and click Build Load again.

When the load is created you'll see Load Created 🎉 with BOL: and a copy button. Paste the number wherever you track the load, or look it up in MercuryGate.

Load Created, with the MercuryGate load number ready to copy

Clicked Build Load again by mistake? Drumkit asks Submit Another Load? first. Click Yes, Create Another only if you really want a second load.

That's it. The load is in MercuryGate and you can work it there like any other load.

What's different in MercuryGate

  • The success panel shows the BOL: number (with Copy BOL) rather than a Load ID.
  • Stops live in one Route section. Add Pickup and Add Drop are in beta.
  • Rate Per Mile works out the line haul from the miles between your stops.
  • Drumkit Quote Number links the load to the quote you sent from Drumkit.
  • You can cancel a built load from Drumkit with Cancel Load.
  • If you see You're connected to the MercuryGate QA environment. at the top of the form, Drumkit is pointed at a MercuryGate test system and loads go there. Ask your Drumkit admin if you didn't expect it.

FAQs

I don't see Builder at all.

Builder may be turned on for only some users on your team. Ask your Drumkit admin to turn it on for you, then reopen the sidebar.

Should I build loads for EDI customers?

No. Loads from EDI customers already reach MercuryGate on their own. Building them in Drumkit too creates duplicates.

Why is Build Load asking if I want to submit another load?

You've already built a load from this form. Drumkit checks so you don't send the same load twice. Click Cancel unless you need a second load.

One email has two shipments. What do I do?

Build the first, then clear the form and build the second. Kit fills one load per suggestion.

Can I add a field MercuryGate has that the form doesn't?

Tell us at support@drumkit.ai which field and why. Requests like this shape what we add next.

Does Drumkit create loads in MercuryGate on its own?

No. Drumkit fills in the form and you click Build Load. It reads your customer and location records to fill the form and writes only the load (plus a new location when you choose to create one).

Kit got a field wrong. Will it keep doing that?

Fix the field before you build, then send us the email so we can tune Builder for that customer. See Report a Builder miss.
