Builder for Aljex
Last updated: October 23, 2026
Build an Aljex load from a tender email: open the email, review the form, click Build Load. Nothing is created in Aljex until you click Build Load.
Before you start
Your Aljex admin and your Drumkit admin set these up once. If Builder isn't showing for you, it's usually one of these.
- Load Building is turned on for you in Drumkit. Ask your Drumkit admin if you don't see the Load Building tab.
- Drumkit is connected to Aljex, and your customers and locations have synced. Customers and locations need to exist in Aljex so Drumkit can use their Aljex IDs.
Here's the kind of email we mean

1. Open the email and go to Load Building
Open the email and the Drumkit sidebar. In the New view, click the Load Building tab. If Kit found a load in the email, click its suggestion and the form fills in from the email and its attachments. Fields Kit filled in carry a small sparkle icon.
Click Expand all at the top of the form to open every section at once, or tick Auto-expand to always start that way.
2. Check each section
Work top to bottom. Start with the customer, because the rest of the load hangs off it. The Aljex form has these sections:
Customer
- Name: search your Aljex customers
- Address, Contact, Phone, Email: fill in from the customer record
- Customer Ref #: the customer's reference for this load
Bill To
Fills in from the customer. If you change it by hand, Drumkit notes You have manually overridden the Bill To information.
Commodities
- Equipment Type: from the Aljex equipment list (for example VAN, REEFER, FLATBED, POWER ONLY)
- Footage: trailer footage used
- Description: what's on the truck
- Items: click + Add Commodity: Description, Reference Number, Quantity, Weight (lbs), dimensions, Freight Class
- Load Summary (Auto-calculated): Total Quantity and Total Weight from the items
The example email doesn't say what equipment to send, so Kit leaves Equipment Type empty and the form marks it in red. Pick it before you build.
Rates
- Customer Rates: Rate Type, Line Haul Rate (and # of Hours for an hourly rate), Total LH
- Fuel Surcharge: FSC Percentage, FSC Per Mile or Fuel Flat Rate
- Carrier Rates: Max Rate and Total Cost
- Profit (Aljex-calculated): Net Profit and Profit Percent, worked out by Aljex
Route
Pickup, any extra stops from the email, then Consignee. Picking a saved location is optional: you can build with the address fields alone.
- Location: search saved Aljex locations, or use Create new location
- Company Name, Street Address, City, State, ZIP: the stop address
- Contact Information: Contact Person, Phone, Email
- Business Hours: like 0800-1700
- Reference & Appointment Information: Reference Number, Ready Time (pickup) or Must Deliver By (delivery), Appointment Time, Appointment Notes
Additional Info
- Additional References: reference numbers like a bill of lading or load number
- Special Instructions: instructions for the load
When you open a built load later (the Active view), the same form also shows Carrier.
3. Check your locations
Drumkit matches each stop to a location already in Aljex. When it finds one, it selects it and fills the address from that record, so the load points at your real location.
Picking a saved location is optional in Aljex. If the stop isn't saved yet, either fill in the address fields and build, or click Create new location, fill in the details and click Save Location to save it to Aljex for next time.
4. Click Build Load
Click Build Load at the bottom of the form. If a required field is empty, Drumkit shows Invalid fields: with a list of what's missing and opens those sections for you. Fill them in and click Build Load again.
When the load is created you'll see Load Created 🎉 with Load ID #: and a copy button. Paste the number wherever you track the load, or look it up in Aljex.
That's it. The load is in Aljex and you can work it there like any other load.
What's different in Aljex
- The items section is called Commodities when you build (it shows as Specs when you open a built load).
- Saved locations are optional: you can build with typed addresses.
- Rates include fuel as a percentage, per mile or flat, and Aljex works out the profit.
- Aljex limits the length of some fields, so very long references or notes may be cut short.
Errors you might see
| Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Please provide at least a pickup and a dropoff (2 stops). | The Route is missing a pickup or delivery. | Fill in both stops. |
| Failed to create load. | Aljex didn't accept the load. | Check the customer and stops are valid in Aljex, then try again. Send the email and a screenshot to support@drumkit.ai. |
| Error creating location. | Aljex didn't accept the new location. | Check the required fields (name, street, city, state, zip) or build with typed addresses. |
| Invalid fields: (then a list) | One or more required fields are empty or in the wrong format. | Fill in each field listed. Drumkit opens those sections for you. |
| Transport type is required. Select the equipment, then create the load. | The equipment field is empty. | Pick the equipment (or transport type) in the form and build again. |
For every message Builder can show, see Builder error messages, explained.
FAQs
Do I have to pick a saved location?
No. You can type the stop address and build. Saving it with Create new location makes the next load faster.
Where do I put the BOL number?
In Additional Info, under Additional References.
Can I use Drumkit on the Aljex load page too?
If your team uses the Drumkit Chrome extension, open a load in Aljex and click the extension to see it in Drumkit.
Does Drumkit create loads in Aljex on its own?
No. Drumkit fills in the form and you click Build Load. It reads your customer and location records to fill the form and writes only the load (plus a new location when you choose to create one).
Kit got a field wrong. Will it keep doing that?
Fix the field before you build, then send us the email so we can tune Builder for that customer. See Report a Builder miss.
