Builder for GlobalTranz
Last updated: October 23, 2026
Build a GlobalTranz shipment from a tender email: open the email, review the form, click Build Load. Nothing is created in GlobalTranz until you click Build Load.
Before you start
Your GlobalTranz admin and your Drumkit admin set these up once. If Builder isn't showing for you, it's usually one of these.
- Load Building is turned on for you in Drumkit. Ask your Drumkit admin if you don't see the Load Building tab.
- Drumkit is connected to your GlobalTranz TMS, and your customers, address book and commodities have synced.
- Each customer you build for exists in GlobalTranz. Shipment items, commodities and new locations all hang off the customer, so the form asks for it first.

1. Open the email and go to Load Building
Open the email and the Drumkit sidebar. In the New view, click the Load Building tab. If Kit found a load in the email, click its suggestion and the form fills in from the email and its attachments. Fields Kit filled in carry a small sparkle icon.
Click Expand all at the top of the form to open every section at once, or tick Auto-expand to always start that way.
2. Check each section
Work top to bottom. Start with the customer, because the rest of the load hangs off it. The GlobalTranz form has these sections:
Customer
Pick the customer first. Shipment Items and new locations stay locked until you do.
- Name: search your GlobalTranz customers. The address fills in from the customer record
- Ref #/ BOL: the bill of lading or main reference
- PO #: the customer's PO
Specs
- Mode, Service Type, Shipment Type: how the shipment moves. Shipment Type is usually Spot Quote or Contract Ongoing
- Service: the TL service level (truckload only)
- Equipment, Equipment Length: for example a 53' van. Click the refresh icon next to Equipment if a choice you expect is missing
- Min Temp, Max Temp: for temperature-controlled equipment
- Can Get: truckload only
- Currency: shown for reference
The example email doesn't name the equipment, so Kit leaves Equipment and Equipment Length empty and marks them in red. Pick both before you build.
Shipment Items
Every shipment needs at least one item with a description and a weight.
- Add Item: search an existing commodity by description or NMFC under Commodity (Optional), or add an empty item. Create new commodity saves a new one to the customer in GlobalTranz
- Commodity Description, Weight: required on every item
- Pallet Count, Piece Count, Length, Width, Height, Stackable: as the email gives them
- HazMat Group, HazMat Class, Prefix, Hazmat Code, Chemical Name, Emergency Contact Number: for hazardous items. The code is the 4-digit UN or NA number
- Total Shipment Value (USD): the declared value of the freight
Rates
Each charge is a row with a carrier Cost and a customer Revenue. Click Add Row for fuel or extras. The section adds up Total Cost, Total Revenue and Margin.
- Max Buy, Target Cost, Price To Beat, Rate, Miles: the pricing targets for the shipment, all optional
- Description, UoM, Units, Rate: what each charge is and how it's worked out (Base Rate is the line haul)
- Cost, Revenue: what you pay the carrier and bill the customer for that row. Every row needs a Revenue above 0; an empty Cost counts as 0
Pickup and Consignee
- Name: search your GlobalTranz address book by name or address, or click Create new location. The address fills in from the record
- Pickup Date / Delivery Date: from the email. Delivery can't be before pickup
- Open Time, Close Time: the stop's hours that day. Both are required
- Appointment Required, Appointment Confirmed With Location, Appointment #: under Location Requirement, when the stop runs on appointments
- Appointment Note, Contact Phone, Contact Email: anything the driver or dispatcher needs
Accessorials
Lists the accessorials and special services GlobalTranz offers for the equipment you picked, so choose the equipment first. Tick what the load needs.
When you open a built load later (the Active view), the same form also shows Notes. Notes show the load's GlobalTranz notes.
3. Check your locations
Drumkit matches each stop to a location already in GlobalTranz. When it finds one, it selects it and fills the address from that record, so the load points at your real location.
If the address isn't in your GlobalTranz address book, click Create new location. Pick the customer to associate it with, then fill in the company, contact name and phone, and address (choose the city, state and ZIP from the search), and click Save Location. Contact name and phone are required by GlobalTranz.
4. Click Build Load
Click Build Load at the bottom of the form. If a required field is empty, Drumkit shows Invalid fields: with a list of what's missing and opens those sections for you. Fill them in and click Build Load again.
When the load is created you'll see Load Created 🎉 with Load ID #: and a copy button. Paste the number wherever you track the load, or look it up in GlobalTranz.
That's it. The load is in GlobalTranz and you can work it there like any other load.
What's different in GlobalTranz
- Pick the customer first. Shipment Items and new locations depend on it.
- Rates are rows with a Cost and a Revenue, and every row needs a Revenue before you can build.
- At least one shipment item with a description and weight is required.
- Accessorials follow the equipment: change the equipment and the list changes.
- Each stop needs an Open Time and a Close Time.

FAQs
Why can't I add a shipment item?
Pick the customer first. Items and commodities belong to a customer in GlobalTranz, so the section stays locked until you do.
An equipment type or accessorial I use is missing.
Click the refresh icon next to Equipment. It pulls the latest equipment, lengths and accessorials from GlobalTranz.
Can I set the carrier when I build?
Not in the build form. Assign the carrier in GlobalTranz after the build.
Does Drumkit create loads in GlobalTranz on its own?
No. Drumkit fills in the form and you click Build Load. It reads your customer and location records to fill the form and writes only the load (plus a new location when you choose to create one).
Kit got a field wrong. Will it keep doing that?
Fix the field before you build, then send us the email so we can tune Builder for that customer. See Report a Builder miss.
