Builder for Turvo

Last updated: October 23, 2026

Build a Turvo shipment from a tender email: open the email, review the form, click Build Load. Nothing is created in Turvo until you click Build Load.

Before you start

Your Turvo admin and your Drumkit admin set these up once. If Builder isn't showing for you, it's usually one of these.

  • Load Building is turned on for you in Drumkit. Ask your Drumkit admin if you don't see the Load Building tab.
  • Drumkit is connected to Turvo, and your customers and locations have synced. Customers and locations need to be Turvo records so the shipment links to them.

Here's the kind of email we mean

1. Open the email and go to Load Building

Open the email and the Drumkit sidebar. In the New view, click the Load Building tab. If Kit found a load in the email, click its suggestion and the form fills in from the email and its attachments. Fields Kit filled in carry a small sparkle icon.

The Load Building tab with the Turvo form filled in. Service Type and Equipment are still empty and marked in red.

Click Expand all at the top of the form to open every section at once, or tick Auto-expand to always start that way.

2. Check each section

Work top to bottom. Start with the customer, because the rest of the load hangs off it. The Turvo form has these sections:

Customer

  • Name: search your Turvo customers
  • Ref #/ BOL: the bill of lading or main reference
  • PO #: the customer's PO

Specs

  • Mode, Service Type: how the shipment moves
  • Equipment, Size: for example a 53' van
  • Temperature: for temperature-controlled loads
  • Items: click Add Item: Item Name, Quantity and units, Handling quantity and units, Gross and Net Weight, Item value (USD), Perishable, Min and Max temp (°F)
The Specs section. Service Type and Equipment are marked in red until you pick them

The example email doesn't name the equipment or service, so Kit leaves Service Type and Equipment empty and marks them in red. Pick both before you build.

Rates

Customer and Carrier charges are line items. Click Add Charge to add freight, fuel or accessorials.

  • Type: what the charge is
  • Quantity, Rate per Unit (USD), Rate Qualifier: how it's worked out
  • Total Charge (USD): the line total
  • Note: optional
  • Total Amount, Currency: totals for the side

Route

Pickup and Consignee, plus any stops you add.

  • Location: search Turvo locations, or Create new location
  • Pickup Date / Delivery Date: from the email
  • Appointment Required?, Appointment Type: By appointment or FCFS
  • Appointment Start Time, Appointment End Time, Appointment Number, Appointment Note: when the stop has an appointment
  • Add Stop (beta): add stops in between by hand. Each shows as Stop N · Pickup or Stop N · Dropoff, set by Stop Action. Multi-stop is in beta and Kit doesn't fill extra stops yet
The Route section with the pickup location, date, appointment fields and the beta tooltip on Add Stop

When you open a built load later (the Active view), the same form also shows Carrier, Operator and Bill To. Carrier (driver name and phone, truck and trailer numbers, dispatch details) and Operator appear only if your team has them turned on.

3. Check your locations

Drumkit matches each stop to a location already in Turvo. When it finds one, it selects it and fills the address from that record, so the load points at your real location.

If Kit found an address that isn't in Turvo, you'll see We detected a new location that will be created upon load submission. You may still choose another location. Search for the existing location if you know it's there. You can also click Create new location, fill it in and click Save Location to save it to Turvo now.

4. Click Build Load

Click Build Load at the bottom of the form. If a required field is empty, Drumkit shows Invalid fields: with a list of what's missing and opens those sections for you. Fill them in and click Build Load again.

When the load is created you'll see Load Created 🎉 with Load ID #: and a copy button. Paste the number wherever you track the load, or look it up in Turvo.

Load Created, with the Turvo load number ready to copy

Clicked Build Load again by mistake? Drumkit asks Submit Another Load? first. Click Yes, Create Another only if you really want a second load.

That's it. The load is in Turvo and you can work it there like any other load.

What's different in Turvo

  • Rates are line items: add each charge with Add Charge.
  • Items carry Turvo's perishable and temperature fields.
  • Add Stop (beta) lets you add stops in between by hand.
  • You can create a new Turvo location right from the form.

FAQs

Where do fuel and accessorials go?

In Rates, as their own line items. Click Add Charge for each.

Kit says it will create a new location, but we already have it.

Search the Location field by address and pick the existing one. The banner goes away.

Can I set the carrier when I build?

Not in the build form. Open the built load from the Active view, or set it in Turvo.

Does Drumkit create loads in Turvo on its own?

No. Drumkit fills in the form and you click Build Load. It reads your customer and location records to fill the form and writes only the load (plus a new location when you choose to create one).

Kit got a field wrong. Will it keep doing that?

Fix the field before you build, then send us the email so we can tune Builder for that customer. See Report a Builder miss.
