Builder for Tai
Last updated: October 23, 2026
Build a Tai truckload shipment from a tender email: open the email, review the form, click Build Load. Nothing is created in Tai until you click Build Load.
Before you start
Your Tai admin and your Drumkit admin set these up once. If Builder isn't showing for you, it's usually one of these.
- Load Building is turned on for you in Drumkit. Ask your Drumkit admin if you don't see the Load Building tab.
- Drumkit is connected to Tai with an account that can see all your customers, and your customers and carriers have synced.
Here's the kind of email we mean

1. Open the email and go to Load Building
Open the email and the Drumkit sidebar. In the New view, click the Load Building tab. If Kit found a load in the email, click its suggestion and the form fills in from the email and its attachments. Fields Kit filled in carry a small sparkle icon.
Click Expand all at the top of the form to open every section at once, or tick Auto-expand to always start that way.
2. Check each section
Work top to bottom. Start with the customer, because the rest of the load hangs off it. The Tai form has these sections:
Customer
- Name: search your Tai customers. Their address shows underneath once picked
- Ref #/ BOL: the bill of lading or main reference
- PO #: the customer's PO
Carrier
Optional. Pick the customer first, then choose the carrier from your Tai carriers.
- Carrier: search your Tai carriers
Specs
- Mode: Truckload
- Service Type: Any, Expedite or Standard
- Item, Quantity, Units: what's moving and how it's packed, for example 24 Pallet
- Equipment, Size: Van, Flatbed or Reefer, and the trailer length
- Gross Weight, Units: the total weight
The example email doesn't name the equipment or service, so Kit leaves Service Type and Equipment empty and marks them in red. Pick both before you build.
Rates
- Line Haul Charge, Fuel Surcharge: what you bill the customer
- Total Amount: adds itself up
- Currency: required once you enter an amount
Pickup and Consignee
Tai stops are typed, not picked from a location list. Kit fills them from the email; check each line.
- Name, Address Line 1, Address Line 2, City, State, Zip Code, Country: the stop's address
- Ready Time (pickup) / Must Deliver By (delivery): under Additional details
- Appointment Start Time, Appointment End Time: when the stop has an appointment
- Notes, Instructions, Reference Number, Location Type, TSA Compliant: also under Additional details
When you open a built load later (the Active view), the same form also shows Additional Refs. Additional Refs adds Pickup and Consignee reference numbers (Qualifier and Number), and Rates shows Buy and Sell side by side.
3. Check your locations
Tai stops are typed in, so there's no location to match and nothing new is created in your address book. Check the name and address Kit filled in, especially suite numbers and ZIP codes.
4. Click Build Load
Click Build Load at the bottom of the form. If a required field is empty, Drumkit shows Invalid fields: with a list of what's missing and opens those sections for you. Fill them in and click Build Load again.
When the load is created you'll see Load Created 🎉 with Load ID #: and a copy button. Paste the number wherever you track the load, or look it up in Tai.
That's it. The load is in Tai and you can work it there like any other load.
What's different in Tai
- Stops are typed addresses, not saved locations.
- Builder creates truckload shipments.
- You can set the carrier when you build: pick the customer first and the carrier list loads.
- Times go to Tai exactly as shown in the form, with no time-zone conversion. See Times look shifted in my TMS.
Errors you might see
| Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Select customer first to load carriers. | The carrier list depends on the customer. | Pick the customer, then the carrier. |
| Error while fetching carrier list. | Drumkit couldn't load your Tai carriers. | Reopen the sidebar. If it keeps happening, tell your Drumkit admin. |
| Error building load. (or Tai's own message) | Tai didn't accept the shipment. | Read Tai's message if there is one, fix that field, and try again. Check Tai first so you don't make a duplicate. Send the email and a screenshot to support@drumkit.ai. |
| Invalid fields: (then a list) | One or more required fields are empty or in the wrong format. | Fill in each field listed. Drumkit opens those sections for you. |
| Transport type is required. Select the equipment, then create the load. | The equipment field is empty. | Pick the equipment (or transport type) in the form and build again. |
For every message Builder can show, see Builder error messages, explained.
FAQs
Why can't I pick the carrier?
Pick the customer first. The carrier list loads for that customer.
Does Builder do LTL in Tai?
Builder builds truckload shipments in Tai. LTL quoting is a separate feature. See Quote LTL.
Where do the appointment times go?
Open Additional details on Pickup or Consignee. Kit leaves them blank when the email doesn't clearly give an appointment.
Does Drumkit create loads in Tai on its own?
No. Drumkit fills in the form and you click Build Load. It reads your customer and location records to fill the form and writes only the load (plus a new location when you choose to create one).
Kit got a field wrong. Will it keep doing that?
Fix the field before you build, then send us the email so we can tune Builder for that customer. See Report a Builder miss.
