Builder for Stark
Last updated: October 23, 2026
Build a Stark shipment from a tender email: open the email, review the form, click Build Load. Nothing is created in Stark until you click Build Load.
Before you start
Your Stark admin and your Drumkit admin set these up once. If Builder isn't showing for you, it's usually one of these.
- Load Building is turned on for you in Drumkit. Ask your Drumkit admin if you don't see the Load Building tab.
- Drumkit is connected to Stark, and the customers who tender to you are set up as shippers in Stark. Every Stark shipment needs one.
Here's the kind of email we mean

1. Open the email and go to Load Building
Open the email and the Drumkit sidebar. In the New view, click the Load Building tab. If Kit found a load in the email, click its suggestion and the form fills in from the email and its attachments. Fields Kit filled in carry a small sparkle icon.
Click Expand all at the top of the form to open every section at once, or tick Auto-expand to always start that way.
2. Check each section
Work top to bottom. Start with the customer, because the rest of the load hangs off it. The Stark form has these sections:
Customer
Kit links the email to one of your Stark shippers. Check the name is the customer you expect.
- Name, Email: the shipper
- Ref #/ BOL: the bill of lading or main reference
- PO #: from the email. It's locked here
Specs
- Mode: Truckload, LTL or Refrigerated
- Transport Type: Van, Reefer or Flatbed
- Commodity Description: what's moving
- Weight (lbs), Pallets: both required
- Volume, Distance (mi): optional
The example email doesn't give the equipment or weight, so Transport Type and Weight (lbs) show in red. Fill both before you build.
Rates
Shows the customer and carrier line haul, totals and fuel (FSC/Mile, FSC) for reference. They're read-only in the form; Kit fills the customer line haul from the email when it's there.
Pickup and Consignee
The address comes from the email and is locked. Set how the stop is scheduled:
- Appointment Type: Appointment (one time) or Range (a window)
- Appointment Start Time, Appointment End Time: End Time shows for a Range
- Confirm Appointment: tick it only when the facility has confirmed
- Appointment Note: anything the driver needs
- Business Hours: from Stark, read-only
Carrier
Shows the assigned carrier, driver, truck and trailer for reference. Assign the carrier in Stark after the build.
3. Check your locations
Stark stops use the address Kit read from the email, and it's locked in the form. If an address is wrong, don't build: send the email to support@drumkit.ai so we can fix how Kit reads that customer's tenders, and build this one in Stark.
4. Click Build Load
Click Build Load at the bottom of the form. If a required field is empty, Drumkit shows Invalid fields: with a list of what's missing and opens those sections for you. Fill them in and click Build Load again.
When the load is created you'll see Load Created 🎉 with the Stark Shipment ID: and, when Stark has one, the Freight Tracking ID:. Use either to find the shipment in Stark.
That's it. The load is in Stark and you can work it there like any other load.
What's different in Stark
- The customer and the stop addresses come from the email and the matching Stark shipper; you check them rather than search for them.
- Rates and Carrier are shown for reference. Set them in Stark after the build.
- Each stop is scheduled as an Appointment or a Range.
- Success shows the Stark Shipment ID instead of a Load ID.
Errors you might see
| Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| An error saying a customer is required (it mentions shipperApplicationId) | Kit couldn't link the email to one of your Stark shippers. | Check the customer exists as a shipper in Stark. If it does, send us the email so we can link it, and build this one in Stark. |
| Mode is required / Weight is required / Pallets is required | A required Specs field is empty. | Fill it in and build again. |
| Error building load. | Stark didn't accept the shipment. | Check Stark in case it was created, then try again. Send the email and a screenshot to support@drumkit.ai. |
| Invalid fields: (then a list) | One or more required fields are empty or in the wrong format. | Fill in each field listed. Drumkit opens those sections for you. |
| Transport type is required. Select the equipment, then create the load. | The equipment field is empty. | Pick the equipment (or transport type) in the form and build again. |
For every message Builder can show, see Builder error messages, explained.
FAQs
Why can't I change the address?
Stark stops are built from the address in the email, and the form locks it so the shipment matches the tender. If it's wrong, send us the email and build that one in Stark.
Why are the rate fields greyed out?
In the build form they're for reference. Set or adjust rates on the shipment in Stark.
Appointment or Range?
Use Appointment when the facility gave one time, and Range when it gave a window (for example 8:00 to 14:00).
Does Drumkit create loads in Stark on its own?
No. Drumkit fills in the form and you click Build Load. It reads your customer and location records to fill the form and writes only the load (plus a new location when you choose to create one).
Kit got a field wrong. Will it keep doing that?
Fix the field before you build, then send us the email so we can tune Builder for that customer. See Report a Builder miss.
