Your first week with Drumkit
Last updated: October 23, 2026
Get set up on day one, quote with Kit for a couple of days, try Builder if your team uses it, and check your work at the end of the week. Most steps take a few minutes.
Day 1: get set up
- Sign up and install. Sign up at app.drumkit.ai/signup with your work email, then add the sidebar: Outlook or the Chrome extension for Gmail, bidding portals and TMS pages.
- Pin it. In Outlook, pin the sidebar so it stays open as you move between emails. In Chrome, pin the extension to your toolbar.
- Connect DAT if your team prices with DAT. See Connect your DAT seat.
- Forward yourself a recent request. Drumkit reads new mail from the day you sign up, plus the 24 hours before you signed up. Forward yourself one or two recent quote requests or tenders so you have something to practice on.
If Kit says something like Hey! I found 1 lane to quote on the email you forwarded, you're set up.
Days 2 and 3: quote with Kit
- Open each new request and let Kit fill in the lane. Check the fields marked AI-filled before you price. See Quote a single lane.
- Learn the numbers on the rate card: Read your rate card.
- Save the margin you use most as your default, so every quote starts there: Set buy rate, margin and sell rate.
- Send your quote from the sidebar, or save it as a draft: Send or draft your reply. Finishing the quote in Drumkit is what marks a request Quoted. Opening it or getting a rate doesn't.
Day 4: build loads (if your team uses Builder)
- Read How Builder works. Nothing is created in your TMS until you click Build Load.
- Start with one or two customers who send steady, predictable tenders. Review every field the first few times. Managers: see Roll out Builder to your team.
Day 5: check your work
- Open a busy thread and click View handled quotes (N) to see what you've quoted, replied to or skipped. See See what's been handled.
- If Kit missed a request or got a field wrong, forward the email to support@drumkit.ai with a note on what it should have done. See Get help and send feedback.
Habits that help
- Open the email, then the sidebar. Drumkit follows the email you have open. If you click a different email, the sidebar starts fresh for that one.
- Quote and build from Drumkit, not around it. When you finish a quote in the sidebar, Drumkit records it and the request shows as handled.
- Correct the form, not the reply. If a field is wrong, fix it in the form before you price. The rate and the reply both come from the form.

Kit didn't show anything on an email from last week.
