The words you'll see in Drumkit and in this help center, in plain English.
Pricing
Buy rate
What you expect to pay the carrier. Rate Breakdown labels it Buy. Quick Quote starts from the buy rate your rate sources suggest, and you can change it.
Sell rate
The total you quote the customer, with your markup added in. Rate Breakdown labels it Sell, and Batch Quote shows Sell Rate. It's the number that goes into your reply.
Margin
The difference between sell rate and buy rate, as a percentage or a dollar amount. Depending on your team's setup, Drumkit calculates it as Margin (a share of the sell rate) or Markup (a share of the buy rate). You can save your usual markup (or margin) as a default. See Set buy rate, margin and sell rate.
Rate source
Where a buy rate comes from: DAT, Truckstop, Greenscreens (now Triumph), SONAR, your TMS lane history and others. Which ones you see depends on what your team connects. See Read your rate card.
RateView
DAT's spot-rate lookup. Drumkit shows it on the DAT card when your DAT seat is connected. See Connect your DAT seat.
Kit Insights
If your team has it turned on, Kit Insights suggests a buy rate by averaging your rate sources and applying your default margin. It shows its math, so you can see each source. See Kit Insights.
Confidence (Kit Insights)
How closely your rate sources agree on this lane: High, Medium or Low, or Unavailable when there isn't enough data. High confidence means the sources are close together. It isn't a guarantee you'll win the load.
Requests and quotes
Quick Quote
The sidebar tab where you price a lane and send your quote. See Quote a single lane.
Batch Quote
Prices several truckload lanes from one email at once and writes one reply. See Quote a whole list with Batch Quote.
Quick Quote Agent
If your team has it turned on, the agent prices truckload requests as they arrive and writes a draft reply for you to review. Drumkit can also set it to send the reply itself. See How the Quick Quote Agent drafts replies.
Submit Bid
Sends your rate to a bidding portal from the portal's load-alert email, without opening the portal. See Submit a bid from an email.
Quote request
An email asking you to price one or more lanes. Kit finds them and lists each lane as something to quote.
Opportunity
A quote request that landed in your inbox. On metrics pages, an opportunity "with Quick Quote" is one you priced using the Drumkit sidebar.
Handled
A quote request you've dealt with. Kit marks each one as:
- Quoted: you finished a quote in Drumkit. Opening the request or getting a rate doesn't count.
- Replied to: someone replied to the customer by hand, from your inbox or a teammate's. Automatic replies don't count.
- Skipped: the request was dismissed, or went more than 7 days without a quote or reply.
Kit and the sidebar
Kit
The Drumkit assistant. Kit reads your incoming email, finds quote requests, tenders and load updates, and fills in the sidebar for you. You review and decide.
Suggestion
One thing Kit found in an email, such as a lane to quote or a load to build. Click it and Kit fills in the form.
AI-filled
The tag on a field Kit filled in from the email. Check these before you price or build.
New and Active
The two sidebar views. New is for freight that isn't booked yet (quoting and building). Active is for loads that already exist. See Tour the sidebar.
Loads
Builder
Drumkit's load building. It turns a tender into a load form on the Load Building tab. Nothing is created in your TMS until you click Build Load. See How Builder works.
Load ID
The number your TMS gives a load. After you build a load, Drumkit shows its Load ID, and you can search for any load by ID in the Search by ID... box in the Active view.
Drumkit Portal
The web app at app.drumkit.ai where your team's users, groups, integrations, agents and Analytics live. Open it from the sidebar's profile menu. See Manage your team in the Drumkit Portal.
Chrome extension
Brings the Drumkit sidebar to Gmail, bidding portals and TMS load pages in Chrome. See Install the Drumkit Chrome extension.
TMS
Your transportation management system, where your loads live (McLeod, Turvo, Revenova, Aljex, 3G and others).
