Short answers to the questions reps and admins ask us most, grouped by topic. Each one links to the full article.
Getting started
Do I sign in or sign up?
If you've used Drumkit before with this email, sign in with your work Microsoft or Google account. If you're new, or the sidebar says Sign up for Drumkit, sign up. Signing up again with an existing account reconnects your inbox. See Sign in, sign up or reconnect.
The sidebar isn't showing up or loading.
Check you're signed in, then reload. In Chrome, make sure the extension is installed in the Chrome profile you're using and pinned. See Drumkit isn't showing up or loading.
Why didn't Drumkit read this older email?
Drumkit reads mail that arrives after you connect your inbox, plus the last 24 hours of mail from before you first signed up. For anything older, forward it to yourself; Kit reads the forward like a new email. See How Drumkit reads your email.
Does it work if a teammate forwards me the request?
Yes. Kit reads forwarded mail, including the original message and its attachments. See How Drumkit reads your email.
Kit is still reading, or didn't find my request. What do I do?
New emails take a moment to process. If Kit still has nothing, you can type the lane into Quick Quote yourself. See Kit is still reading, or didn't find my request.
Quoting
What's the difference between buy rate and sell rate?
Buy rate is what you expect to pay the carrier. Sell rate is what you quote the customer: the buy rate plus your markup. See Set buy rate, margin and sell rate.
Where does the recommended rate come from, and what does confidence mean?
Kit Insights averages your live market sources. Confidence is how closely those sources agree. It doesn't promise a win. See Kit Insights.
The rate looks off for this lane.
Check the equipment, the locations and ZIPs, and the miles first; a wrong stop or equipment type changes every card. Then compare cards and hover each rate to see what it's based on. See Read your rate card.
DAT or SONAR shows an error, or nothing at all.
On DAT, an Enable button means your DAT seat isn't linked yet. Other messages are listed with fixes in Rate errors: DAT, SONAR, "no data for this lane". New reps: see Connect your DAT seat.
How do I change my default margin?
Type your markup in the Markup field, then click the small lightbulb icon just above it to save it as your default. See Set buy rate, margin and sell rate.
Can I change the reply email template?
For now, the Drumkit team sets up templates, so every template supports the details Drumkit fills in and your replies stay consistent. Email support@drumkit.ai with the wording you want. See Send or draft your reply, and edit templates.
Did my quote count?
A lane counts as quoted when you send, draft, copy or submit the quote from Drumkit. Opening the email or clicking Get Quick Quote doesn't count. See See what's been handled.
The customer sent several lanes in one email. Can I quote them together?
Use Batch Quote to price them all and send one reply. See Quote a whole list with Batch Quote.
How do I quote a lane with extra stops?
Click Add Stop and choose Leg-to-Leg or Longest Leg pricing. It's in beta. See Quote a multi-stop lane.
How do I quote LTL?
If your team quotes LTL in Tai, 3G, Turvo or McLeod Enterprise, switch Quick Quote to LTL and click Get LTL Quote. See Quote LTL.
How do Quick Quote Agent rules work, and can I add one?
The agent drafts replies to truckload requests using pricing rules your team set up with Drumkit. To change how it prices or replies, email Drumkit support and we'll update it for you. See Set up the Quick Quote Agent.
What do opportunity and with QQ mean on the analytics page?
An opportunity is a quote request that landed in your team's inbox. "With QQ" means someone priced it in Quick Quote. See What your Drumkit metrics mean.
Builder
Does Builder create loads in my TMS on its own?
No. Kit fills in a load form from the email; nothing reaches your TMS until you click Build Load. See How Builder works.
I don't see Builder in my sidebar.
Load Building is turned on per team, and sometimes per user group. Ask your Drumkit admin to check you're included. See Builder FAQ.
Builder missed or put a value in the wrong field.
Fix it before you build, then forward the email to support@drumkit.ai with a line on what should have happened. See Report a Builder miss.
Why are some fields greyed out?
They show what's on the matching customer or location record in your TMS, locked so the load points at your real record. See How Builder works.
The times look shifted in my TMS.
Usually a time-zone difference between the email and how your TMS stores times. See Times look shifted in my TMS.
Can Builder do multi-stop loads, or several loads from one email?
Multi-stop depends on your TMS. Builder builds one load at a time; with load cloning on, Kit can create one load per PO. See Builder FAQ.
Can Builder read a scanned or image attachment?
Scanned PDFs, Word, Excel and CSV, yes. Photos and images, no. See What Builder reads: attachments.
Will Builder duplicate loads that come in by EDI?
It can, because Builder doesn't know a load also arrived by EDI. Keep EDI customers out of Builder. See Roll out Builder to your team.
Loads you already have
A carrier emailed a new driver or appointment. How do I update the load?
Open the email. Kit offers the update as a suggestion; click it, check the fields and click Save. See Apply Kit's suggested updates to a load.
How do I log a check call?
Open the load in the Active view and go to Track & Trace. See Log check calls and exceptions.
Bidding portals
How do I use Drumkit on a bidding portal?
Open the load in Chrome with the Drumkit extension. It reads the load, you price it in Quick Quote, and Drumkit enters your bid on the page. See Use Drumkit on a bidding portal.
Can you support my portal?
Check Supported portals and tips first. If yours isn't there, email support@drumkit.ai with the portal's name, URL and a sample load-alert email.
Why don't I see Submit Bid, or why did my bid fail?
Submit Bid is truckload only and needs a portal login set up for your company. Failed bids are usually a changed portal password or a load that closed first. See Submit Bid is missing or failed.
Account and team
How do I add or remove a user?
New reps sign up themselves at app.drumkit.ai/signup with their work email. To remove someone, email support@drumkit.ai with their email address. See Manage your team in the Drumkit Portal.
A teammate sees a tab or rate card I don't.
Features and some rate sources are turned on per company, group or user, and DAT needs your own seat. Check that you've picked the right group in the Drumkit Portal under Settings > My Groups, or ask your Drumkit admin. See Manage your team in the Drumkit Portal.
Is my data safe?
Drumkit is SOC 2 compliant. What the Chrome extension reads on bidding portals and TMS pages is processed in your browser. See Security and your data.
How do I reach support?
Email support@drumkit.ai or use the in-app help. See Get help and send feedback.
